Project QUEST has partnered with the Alamo Colleges, the Baptist School of Health Professions, and UTHSC in training its participants.
Project QUEST believes that long-term training results in long-term employment, family wages, benefits and an improved lifestyle for participants and their families. The programs we offer are college-based studies and most are directed toward associate degrees from one of the area community colleges or professional training institutes. Some courses of study are based on certificate programs approved by the State of Texas and various licensing boards and, in some cases, may be offered through regional, state-certified private training facilities.
Project QUEST offers its educational opportunities based on analysis of state and regional employment trends, coordination with the workforce development board, participation on local career advisory boards, and information from employers in the occupations for which we offer training. In that regard, the availability of educational opportunities may vary from time to time. We seek to offer a variety of opportunities in the healthcare, information technology, and trades industries.
Before enrollment, you must attend a Project QUEST information session to help you understand the history and goals of Project QUEST and how our opportunities may match your goals. We will then offer a free education check and ask you to take a basic education test so that we may match your current reading and math skills with our educational opportunities. A second assessment is also required so that we can match your vocational interests and aptitudes with your chosen educational interests. You will then proceed to an interview to review your scores and interests and your life circumstances. Project QUEST has various funding sources and we will match your educational readiness against available funding and educational training requirements through our chosen schools. You may then be certified and matched with the counselor assigned to the area of your educational interest. The counselor will complete an assessment of your interests and background and may recommend you for final interview regarding your match for the program of your choice.
