QUEST NEWS AND HIGHLIGHTS

Project QUEST held a press conference yesterday at 10:00 am on the steps of City Hall to announce a $500,000.00 Adult Career Education (ACE) award from the State of Texas. The press conference was attended by several of QUEST supporters including: Representative Mike Villarreal, Representative Ruth Jones McClendon, Judge Nelson Wolff, Mr. Tom Frost, Dr. Federico Zaragoza, City Councilman Ray Lopez and a representative from State Senator Leticia Van de Putte's office.

The Texas Innovative Adult Career Education (ACE) grant was initiated through the work of COPS/Metro, and the Network of Texas IAF Organizations. State Representative Mike Villarreal, State Senator Leticia Van de Putte and others supported this initiative which passed with strongbipartisan support. The purpose of the ACE fund is to support workforce and economic development efforts throughout Texas.
